The Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Nonprofit Security Grant Program, or NSGP, supports target hardening and other security improvements for eligible nonprofits at heightened risk. Applications move through state administrative agencies, and the current funding notice determines eligible costs and requirements.
States also offer their own programs. New Jersey’s NJ NSGP Target Hardening Equipment program, New York’s Securing Communities Against Hate Crimes program, and Pennsylvania’s Nonprofit Security Grant Fund Program each have distinct rules.

Can a grant pay for security cameras?
Some programs allow camera systems when they meet the current program requirements and address an identified risk. Check the current guidance before applying.
Does SEH award or approve grants?
No. The administering agency decides eligibility, eligible expenses and awards. SEH installs security systems and can provide an installation quote.
Can an organization apply to federal and state programs?
Potentially, subject to each program’s rules. The same expense should not be assumed eligible for payment from multiple awards.
